I booked The Soul Beats through G-Sounds for my husband's fiftieth birthday. It was an outside event with a festival theme and the band were highly significant as the main attraction. They did not disappoint. They arrived, set up and ran sound checks very early, so we relaxed when we realised how professional and organised they were.
The first set was played straight after food and very informal speeches, the band slipped easily and impressively into a number of memorable classic soul tunes. We knew then that we had made a great decision to leave such an important part of the celebration to real professionals.
In between both sets they took care of the music and created a brilliant summer time party atmosphere, leaving us totally free to mingle, chat, eat, drink and hear everyone say how 'really good' the band was.
If we were pleased then, we were elated later on when the highlight of the evening was their second set; superb! Clearly expert musicians and performers with a very impressive vocalist, the band played everyone up and dancing, young kids, aloof teenagers, stuffy middle aged et al. dancing past midnight and shouting for 'more!'
This celebration will be talked about for ever and this is due in no small part to the band, who were cool, relaxed, good to look at and awesome to listen to. Thanks to all involved, money very well spent.
